Personal Guidance
Class sizes stay small so there’s time for questions, practice, and one-on-one help when you need it.
I started the North County Training Development Center after seeing how many people wanted to work in Audio, Video, Security, and Networking but didn’t have a clear way to learn the basics. For years I’ve installed speakers, mounted TVs, run CAT5/CAT6 cabling, set up camera systems, and helped build networks for homes and small businesses across North County.
This center is my way of turning that experience into step-by-step training and research. My goal is to teach you practical skills you can use on real jobs — whether you want to join an AV/security company, support your own business, or eventually start your own installation team.
If you’re looking for professional installation instead of training, you can also visit my main service website: North County Home Audio Video Security .
I entered the electronics and home media world, working with televisions, basic audio systems, and home theater setups while learning wiring, mounting, and signal flow.
Most of my work came from repeat customers and word of mouth. I helped homeowners and small businesses with TV installs, satellite and internet equipment, and simple sound systems throughout North County.
My projects expanded into surveillance cameras, DVR/NVR systems, network cabling, multi-display layouts, Wi-Fi, and app-based remote viewing. Those projects shaped the advanced topics I now teach in classes and labs.
Today, I focus on training the next wave of installers and technicians. The North County Training Development Center is built around hands-on learning and continuous improvement, using real equipment and wiring standards you’ll see on actual job sites.
To give you clear, practical training in Audio, Video, Security, and Networking. Every lesson connects to a real-world scenario: a TV on a wall, a camera on a corner, a cable run in a ceiling, a Wi-Fi or switch issue, or a customer who needs their system to “just work.”
I want the North County Training Development Center to be a local hub where motivated people can gain technical skills, understand how modern AV and security systems work on a network, and build long-term careers serving homes and businesses in our community and beyond.
You learn by working with real gear — mounts, TVs, cameras, cable, tools, and network devices — not just slides or theory.
Lessons are chosen to match what employers and customers actually ask for on AV, security, and networking jobs, from basic installs to upgrades.
Installations rarely go perfectly. I show you how to troubleshoot wiring, signal, configuration, and network issues without guessing.
Clean cable runs, safe mounting, labeled connections, organized racks, and reliable systems — doing the work the right way, not just the fast way.
As founder and lead instructor, I bring more than two decades of field work into every class. I focus on showing you exactly how systems are installed, configured, and maintained in real homes and businesses — from the TV and camera on the wall to the network switch in the closet.
Instead of only talking about equipment, we handle it. Instead of just reading about networking, we cut, terminate, connect, and test live cables and devices together.
Class sizes stay small so there’s time for questions, practice, and one-on-one help when you need it.
Each topic is tied to typical tasks on real jobs — cable runs, rack setup, camera placement, remote viewing, Wi-Fi and router configuration, and more.
Right now, I personally lead the core training. As the center grows, additional instructors may join to cover advanced topics and specialized workshops.
